                                                "Consultation-liaison psychiatry is the study, practice, and teaching of the relation between medical and psychiatric disorders. Consultation-liaison psychiatry is associated with all the diagnostic, therapeutic, research, and teaching services that psychiatrists perform in the general hospital and serves as a bridge between psychiatry and other specialities. (Sadock & Sadock, 2007)

So, Consultation-liaison psychiatry has an important role in the identification and management of psychological problems in patients with medical disorders in general hospitals. (Porcelli & Sonino, 2007)

View the importance of Liaison Psychiatry, it was essential to have a coverage of all the Egyptian studies discussing the subject. The aim of this work is to systematically review and appraise the available Egyptian studies on Liaison Psychiatry, to generate recommendations for further studies, and to provide a summary of clinical M.S.c thesis and M.D. Thesis on Liaison Psychiatry done in Ain-Shams University, Neuro-psychiatry Department."
